Procurement by the Victorian Government
Information on this website applies to the policy framework that governs procurement of goods and services as established by the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) under the Financial Management Act. These policies are applicable to the Victorian Government departments and some administrative offices. Other Victorian Government public bodies may choose to adopt these policies and guidelines; however they are not mandated to do so.

Procurement reform
The VGPB has published five new supply policies which are now available on its website.
The new framework does not require any changes on the part of suppliers to government. However, there are a number of benefits for businesses in Victoria. Find out more about the benefits here.
It is expected that Victorian Government departments will need up to 18 months to transfer to the new policy framework. Therefore, the current supply policies will continue to apply to each department until it has received VGPB approval to transition.
